The teenage midfielder is rated as one of the best players in Southampton's academy system

Southampton academy starlet Enzo Robise insists he wants to prove himself in England amid reports linking him with a return to France.

Both Marseille and Lille are said to be keen on luring the 17-year-old midfielder back to his homeland following his impressive displays for Southampton’s youth sides.

But Robise, who has scored twice in eight outings for Southampton’s Under-18s this term, says he has no intention of leaving his current club.

Southampton’s youth system is regarded as one of the finest in the country having nurtured the likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Luke Shaw over the last 15 years.

Robise, who they tied down to professional terms when he turned 17 in May, is considered one of the brightest talents in the south coast club’s current crop and a first-team opportunity is on the cards.

And now he says his only focus is on securing a senior debut with the Saints.

When asked about the interest from back home, he told Foot Mercato: “That’s flattering but I only think of Southampton.

“I want to progress with this club. For the rest, we’ll see later.

“When I prove myself, I can think about these things.”
